Nestled along the breathtaking Grossglockner road, the family-run Gasthof Tauernalm became our idyllic retreat, complete with stunning mountain views that took my breath away. Our group, a spirited ensemble of fellow culinary enthusiasts, relished the homemade delicacies at their restaurant while immersed in the serene atmosphere of nature's splendor. The comfortable, spacious rooms—each featuring a private balcony—were a delightful haven after long days of exploring. With skiing access just steps away and attentive service from Josef, our gracious host, it's a place I would eagerly revisit for a long weekend immersed in authentic Austrian charm.
